AAIIBP Pioneers Islamic Micro-Finance for Marawi City Crises

Aiming to support the government in addressing the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Marawi City, AAIIBP pioneers its Islamic Micro-Finance for the affected persons and entities in the war-torn Marawi City. Now catering the AAIIBP’s Islamic Micro-Finance are the Branches of Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City and the soon to re-open Marawi Branch in MSU Main Campus, Marawi City.  

AAIIBP’s Islamic Micro-Finance was launched in a full house Mini Theater at Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in Iligan City. With open arms, Chancellor Sukarno D. Tanggol of MSU-IIT allowed the use of venue and its facilities free of charge as its support to Government in its commitment to help the victims of war recover from great loss the soonest time possible.     

Guest speakers were Chancellor Sukarno D. Tanggol, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Abdulgani M. Macatoman, and representative of President Habib W. Macaayong of Mindanao State University, Vice President Rasid Paca. DTI recognized the important role of AAIIBP as an Islamic Bank in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Marawi City. The academe carrying the torch of hope and light in the event by giving inspirational talk to lift up the morale and confidence of attentive audience and calling for government officials and leaders in the community to march for unity of their constituents and revival of selfless leadership in this trying times.  

Likewise, AAIIBP also invited heads of local governments of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City to urge their recognition of the role of AAIIBP in their respective communities as the only Islamic Bank in the Country and to support its Islamic banking and investment products. Their representatives got excited and manifested their support to AAIIBP’s Islamic Micro-Finance.     

With regrets, however, AAIIBP were able to accommodate only a hundred and fifty people inside the Mini-Theatre. So that, there were a hundred or more who were not allowed inside the already jam-pack venue. Nonetheless, it was announced during the lecture-seminar that the Bank Managers are ready to give a one-on-one lecture to interested clientele at their respective Branches.

AAIIBP is confident that its Islamic Micro-Finance, if supported by the local government and fully and effectively utilized by clientele, can greatly help in reviving or even robust the business and merchandize milieu in Marawi City and her affected neighbors.
